When you are talking to a woman, how do you know if she is being sincere or if she is just faking it (I’ve heard that women do that on occasion :) )?  She may initially seem interested in you but in reality she is truly hoping you will just leave her alone.

It’s important to know the difference between the two to avoid wasting your time and energy on an unsure thing.

Is She Lying To  You?

So how can you tell when a woman is lying to you?  Like the old joke says “when her lips are moving,”  well, OK maybe not that often but still, it DOES happen…go figure.

Seriously though, the way to tell when a woman is lying to you is by gauging her reactions to your questions.  People react differently when they are trying to make up something (lying) as opposed to just trying to recall something (the truth).

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP teaches us that when someone is lying, their eyes will usually look up and to their right to try to access that part of their brain that is responsible for creativity and making things up (known as construct).

When they are trying to recall something (the truth), their eyes will usually look to their left to try to access the stored  memory part of their brains.

This usually holds true for right-handed people, but may be reversed for left-handed people.

Test Questions

You need to determine whether the eye accessing chart shown above holds true for her or if it is reversed where remembered is to her right and construct is to her left.  To do this, just ask her a couple of innocent test questions and watch her eyes. Work the questions in during the course of your conversation to make it a natural part of the conversation.

Start by asking her a question to trigger her memory.  It should be something that she would not need to lie about but would require her to think for a moment, such as “who is your favorite actor (writer, singer, etc.)” or what does _______ look like”.  Then watch her eye movement to see if she appears to look to her left or her right to access her memory. Normally, she should look to her left to access memory, but if she looks to her right, then it might be reversed.

Then ask her a question to trigger the creative side of her brain such as “what would your ideal date be like” or “what would the ideal man look like”.  These are questions that should force her to access the “construct” side of her brain which is the creative side used to make things up, such as lies. Again, observe her eye movement which should be the opposite direction of questions that trigger her memory (remembered) side of the brain.

Lying Eyes

If she is like most people, she will look up and to her right when making something up. By using test questions like the ones above, you will know for sure whether this holds true for her or if it is reversed.

Once you get her base reaction, then you will always know whether she is accessing her memory to recall the truth or if she’s accessing the construct side of her brain to make something up, indicating she may be lying to you.
